  • After nearly a week of having no contact with her son, Diane went to Jason's apartment to seek answers. Furious that she let herself in without notice, Jason lashed out at Diane and commanded her to leave.
  • As her jealousy for Rick's friendship with Liz soared to new heights, Kayla realized that her only way to deal with such was to embrace their friendship and prove to Rick that she supported their relationship. In Rick's presence, Kayla called Liz and surprisingly invited her to dinner. While at the market prior to the dinner, she ran into Terrence Bordeaux and became intrigued by the gentleman. After learning he had a prior connection with Liz, she invited him to the dinner in hopes that it would create an awkward atmosphere for Liz.
  • A frantic Jason reached out to Ashley when he received a call from the Testing Center which revealed that he would need to come in for his results. Fearing the worst, he relied on Ashley to be there for him when he learned the results.

Scene: The Residence of Rick and Kayla Preston

Kayla grins as she hears the doorbell once again. "Hey Terrence , why don't you go help yourself to some hordeorves out in the living room. It will give you a chance to acquaint yourself with Rick as well."

"Sure, I'll do that."

In the living room, Rick opens the door and Liz greets him with a smile and a quick hug. "Hey buster, how's it hangin'?"

"Pretty good, pretty good...Just watching the game. Kayla's in the kitchen getting things ready."

"I was actually quite surprised when I received her voice mail. Pleasantly surprised, but a bit shocked nonetheless."

"That makes two of us." Rick cracks a smile.

The doors soon open from the kitchen and Liz stands frozen when she recognizes Terrence coming her way. He is equally confused by her presence as the two lock eyes and then both look at Rick.

Meanwhile, Kayla stands in the doorway with a beaming smile. "Liz, this is my friend Terrence. I think you two have already been acquainted."

Liz forces herself to look away from Terrence as she glares back at Kayla. While Rick may be unaware of Kayla's current deception, Liz understands all too well why Terrence is present. Although she didn't realize that Kayla and Terrence had any present connection, she certainly didn't think Kayla was above pulling such a stunt.

"We do know each other," Liz smiles back at Kayla. "Quite well, but I'm sure you already know that."

"Am I missing something?" Rick looks back from Liz and locks eyes with his wife.

"I suppose I'm in the dark as well. I just invited my new friend to dinner and apparently he already knows Liz. I mean, there are no problems between you two...right?"

"Not at all," Terrence steps in as he shoots a quick wink in Liz's direction.

"Alright then, well is dinner just about ready?" Rick tries to change the subject, sensing the awkward knife stabbing relentlessly through the room.

"It is, yes. We're still waiting on your sister though, right?" Kayla inquires.

"Yeah, Val should be here any minute. Why don't you meet me in the kitchen, Kay? I'll help set the table." Rick smiles.

"Oh, it's already set hon."

"Well then," Rick grabs her arm, "I'll be the official taste tester to make sure everything turned out well." Rick pulls her into the kitchen, leaving Terrence and Liz alone in the living room.

"What in the hell is going on?" Rick whispers harshly into her right ear after he pulls her into the kitchen.

"What? I'm simply entertaining..." Kayla cracks a smile.

"Well, I don't find this the least entertaining. Did you know Terrence and Liz dated for awhile? They just broke things off and-"

Kayla interrupts as she attempts to loosen his tight grip, "And weren't you just shattered about that news!"

"Excuse me? What are you trying to say?" Rick glares back.

"Nothing. I don't think I have to point a damn thing out..."

"If you're trying to insinuate that I was glad she broke things off with Terrence, you are crazier than I thought. I really thought we were past this, Kay."

"Oh, I'm past this more than you know....I need to check up on Haylie. Why don't you go entertain our guests since you have no problems with anything." Kayla shoots back sarcastically and pushes past him.

Scene: San Francisco General

Jason paces back and forth down the corridor, occasionally glancing at his phone to see if Ashley has given him any signal that she has arrived. He realizes his heart is racing and tries to cool himself down before he meets Ashley.

"It's nothing....it's absolutely nothing," Jason tries to convince himself that the doctor's message was just simply routine.

He quickly whips around when he hears the comfort of a familiar voice. Ashley rushes up from behind and greets him with a sympathetic smile. She knows all too well the fear that boils within Jason's soul.

"Hey Jason. Sorry it took me so long to get over here. I certainly wasn't expecting Kimberly to stop by. It seems the Devil's been packing in some overtime in Pac Heights lately."

Jason grins, forgetting just for one moment why he asked her to join him. After Keith's death, he joined some sites and found himself meeting a few random strangers for anonymous sex. While it killed himself to do such, and the guilt seemed to eat away like never before, he found it the only way to try and get over Keith. Of course, he knew the acts would only eat away inside for some time to come.

"Yeah, Kimberly usually does pop up at the most inconvenient times."

"That's for damn sure," Ashley sighs. "So how are you holding up? This thing really has you shaken up, huh?"

"Yeah, I don't know why. I mean, it's not like I was ever really promiscuous or anything- and the only person I ever went all the way with, well..."

Ashley can see the look of embarrassment written over Jason's face as he looks down into his lap.

"Look Jason, you can tell me anything, okay? I know we are still getting to know each other, but I am certainly no one to judge."

"Thanks, I appreciate that." Jason locks eyes with Ashley and continues, "well, Keith was the only one I ever had unprotected sex with. But that's because we were monogamous- and I really trusted him. According to him, I was his first too."

"If I had a bill for every time I told a guy that," Ashley cracks a smile and quickly realizes this may not be the time to say such things.

"Thanks, that certainly helps." Jason rolls his eyes.

"You're going to be fine, stop worrying yourself to death," Ashley sets her hand over Jason's and squeezes tightly.

"Jason Summers. Please come back."

A large woman with a raspy voice and oversized glasses enters the waiting room and stares into his direction.

"Well, this is it. Let's do this." Jason nods his head as he arises with Ashley following close behind."
