An online series is basically a serialized drama, comedy, action or horror series that is presented in the episodic format. That being, a series of a particular genre, or one that combines multiple elements, that is completely presented through text or video for an online audience.

Online series began to expand rapidly to an audience in the mid-late 90s, and there are still a few ongoing series that commenced during this time presently in production (About Schuyler Falls, Footprints).

Presently, there are dozens of web serials that actively produce new episodes. These series encompass a number of genres and usually offer something unique for their readers. To the left you will find a hand-selected list of serials we recommend. The last link will take you to The Epiguide which is a community forum dedicated to web entertainment.

Episodes for Pac Heights are all presented in a text-based format, broken down into four pages (each with roughly 2 scenes each). To accompany each scene you will find pictures of the characters in the left column. These actors are in no way affiliated with the series, but merely create a visual for the reader. For the third season, episodes will be published three times per month spanning over a six month period. At the end of each season the series will take a brief hiatus and a yearly recap will be produced for new readers. You can visit our Season Recaps here to catch up before jumping in.

The creator of Pac Heights premiered his first original series in February of 2000. Entitled "South Beach", the series ran for nearly three years- producing over 100 episodes. Plans are currently in the works to resurrect the series in 2009 with a detailed history spanning the nearly six years the series has been on hiatus.

As stated in the commencing lines of the site, Pacifica Heights is an online serialized drama that focuses on character development through various internal struggles and triumphs in the personal lives of those featured. In the first season, there were nine starring canvas members, seven of which that are featured in the current season (two have met their dreary ends).

The series is set in the Coastal Community of Pacifica Heights, roughly twenty miles from the City of San Francisco in Northern California. With breathtaking scenery nestled away into the Bay Area Hills, the community has become a posh destination for those visiting the area that are looking for something less hectic than the bustling City. The University of Pacifica gives the community a "college town" feel, while still maintaining a quiet and calm atmosphere for many of the affluent millionaires that chose to create a home in PH.
